Mobility refers to the amount of active, usable motion that one possesses. The more mobile a person is, the more they are able to maximize their movement potential safely, efficiently, and effectively.
The goal of mobility coaching is to greatly improve range of motion, joint health, flexibility, and provide injury prevention. By actively challenging your own movement, you improve the function of your body through nervous system activity.
Unlike traditional passive stretching, active mobility tactics require the client to physically challenge their own range of motion, creating strength and control in the joints. Below, we summaries a few tools that we use in our mobility coaching practice.
Stick mobility training uses custom-designed Training Sticks as tools to improve range of motion, muscle activation, coordination, and body awareness to build a strong foundation for better movement. We focus on helping anyone seeking more movement efficiency and lasting results.
From pro athletes to personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches to physical therapists and chiropractors. Each one of them views movement from a different perspective. Stick mobility trainers work with them to understand how to apply the Stick Mobility principles into how they view movement with the goal of helping them reach their full potential.
Some professional sports teams who use Stick Mobility include The Cincinnati Bengals, Las Vegas Raiders, LA Rams, The Baltimore Orioles, LA Angels, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia 76’ers, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Denver Nuggets.
PGA Golfers such as Paul Casey, Jason Day, and Dustin Johnson have implemented Stick Mobility with their trainers to increase mobility to improve their swing, rotational power to hit the ball further and reduce their risk of injury.
