Greg completed his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island in 2012. In 2013, Greg became a Nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. He started his coaching career by building high school athlete training programs and worked his way up to training professional and olympic athletes.
Around the same time, Greg was studying musculoskeletal injuries. He spent half of his day as a strength coach and the other half as a physical therapists assistant. He helped clients recover from surgery and injury using corrective exercises. In order to continue building his expertise in the recovery setting, Greg became a licensed orthopedic massage therapist in 2015.
He used his manual therapy work with both athletes and physical therapy clients. Greg has helped hundreds of clients with anything from weight loss and strength gain to returning to athletics post injury.
Greg has spent many years training clients both pre and post injury, which is what lead him to build his pain free fitness and performance model. Discover Movement was opened in January 2017 in order to help people reach their highest levels of fitness without sacrificing their bodies health or longevity.
Greg has expanded his knowledge over the years by becoming certified as a functional strength coach, titles performance instructor (golf fitness coach), Precision nutrition coach, and Active Release Techniques practitioner.
Greg’s passion for health and fitness was ignited by his own life experience. When Greg was sixteen years old he lost 80 pounds through diet modifications and strength training. When Greg experienced firsthand what it was like to get in great shape after being overweight and unhealthy, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life helpings others achieve goals of their own.
Greg went from a sedentary teen to completing a full marathon in his twenties. When Greg isn’t coaching he enjoys hiking with his family, spending time in Maine, snowboarding, and exercising.
